River Hongbao 2025 is one of Singapore’s most iconic Chinese New Year celebrations, bringing together vibrant traditions, cultural heritage, and modern festivities. Held at Gardens by the Bay, this annual event features spectacular lantern displays, exciting performances, interactive exhibits, amusement rides, and a bustling Food Street.
This year, River Hongbao also commemorates Singapore’s 60th year of independence with SG60-themed highlights, making it a must-visit event for families, friends, and everyone seeking to celebrate the Year of the Snake in style. Admission is free for all!
River Hongbao 2025 will be held from 27 January to 5 February 2025.

Admission is free, no tickets are required for admission. However, visitors attending the River Hongbao event will be required to undergo bag checks at the entrance checkpoints.
To better facilitate crowd control, the River Hongbao event grounds at the Supertree Grove and The Meadow will be gated. Capacity limits will be closely monitored and entry may be temporarily suspended in cases of overcrowding. Also, do note that all bags are subject to security checks.
The Food Street, located at the Supertree Grove, will be serving snacks and drinks throughout the evening. Various dining options are also available at Gardens by the Bay. Visitors are advised to plan ahead in anticipation of large crowds and long queues.
Note that as Jurassic Nest is located within River Hongbao event grounds, all visitors will be required to undergo bag checks from 6.30pm on 27 to 28 Jan, and 2.30pm from 29 Jan to 5 Feb 2025.
River Hongbao is a rain or shine event. As this is an outdoor event with limited shelter available, visitors are encouraged to bring umbrellas and ponchos in case it rains.

During the festive period, our parking spaces are limited at the Gardens and visitors are strongly encouraged to take public transport. Limited parking is available at Main Entrance, The Meadow*, Satay by the Bay, and Bayfront Plaza.
*The Meadow carpark will be closed to the public on 27 Jan 2025, from 6.00pm – 8.00pm.For assistance, you may locate the River Hongbao information counter near Supertree Grove Lawn and Exit 1B, or approach any staff within the River Hongbao event grounds.

Yes, the River Hongbao grounds are largely barrier-free and wheelchair accessible.
Visitors on wheelchairs or with strollers should use Exits 1A, 2 and 3, where there are lifts or ramps.
No bicycles, scooters, skateboards and personal mobility devices (PMDs) are allowed into the event grounds.
As there are many excitable elements at the event and we are expecting a high volume of visitors, pets are not allowed at River Hongbao for safety reasons.

Volunteers and auxiliary police officers are deployed throughout the event grounds to manage the crowd. Bag checks will also be conducted at all three entry points.
Stage performances are held at the Meadow, and seats are available for public members to watch the performances comfortably. Seats are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

As Supertree Grove will be part of the event ground for River Hongbao, the Supertree Grove will also be closed an hour before the start of the River Hongbao to prepare for admission.
Supertree Observatory and OCBC Skyway are within the event ground, visitors will have to undergo bag checks during the operational hours of River Hongbao. Do note that as the event ground will be undergoing preparation for admission, entry to the 2 attractions / Supertree Grove will be closed an hour before the start of River Hongbao.

For visitors to the Gardens who wish to view Garden Rhapsody or Borealis from other vantage points, please consider watching from World of Plants albeit restricted views.
You may walk past Shake Shack & Floral Clock towards Supertree Grove. The nearest entrance is Checkpoint 1.
You may get onto Dragonfly Bridge located along Scented Walk and walk through Heritage Gardens to arrive at the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest.
Visitors coming from The Meadow or Bayfront Plaza carpark, can make your way through:
Supertree Grove* where River Hongbao is currently located OR
via Scented Walk. At Bayfront Plaza, head up to Dragonfly Bridge, walk through Heritage Garden
*Visitors walking through Supertree Grove and The Meadows to access other parts of the Gardens will be required to undergo bag checks.
